Raising IAM maturity while satisfying regulatory expectations
DKV needed to raise IAM maturity, meet regulatory expectations and modernize access management without making its operating model harder to sustain. OPNS delivered an IAM programme covering PAM, MFA, an RBAC model, access reviews and automation. OPNS also supported hiring, onboarding and training so the new practices could continue after delivery.
PAM, MFA, RBAC and access-review processes helped DKV exceed its IAM maturity target and meet National Bank of Belgium compliance expectations.

DKV needed to strengthen its security posture and reach a higher level of IAM maturity. OPNS implemented an IAM solution tailored to DKV's operational and compliance requirements, then supported continuity by helping to hire, onboard and train new IAM staff.
Embracing compliance & regulations
Corporate Governance
Assess the existing IAM situation and put the rules, practices and processes in place so access controls could stand up to internal and external scrutiny.
Transitioning towards the future
Shift Paradigm
Legacy access-right processes and privileged-account handling were moved into an integrated model that balanced delivery speed, security and compliance evidence.
Elevating security standards
Maturity level
Identify security gaps, close them through processes and solutions, and provide the documentation and evidence needed to demonstrate a higher maturity level.
Increasing security, compliance and maturity
DKV's objectives were to increase security for employees and contractors, move from legacy access-right processes to a modern integrated solution, reach IAM maturity level 3.5 as requested by the parent company, and ensure compliance with National Bank of Belgium regulations. The work combined security posture, access-right management and operating-framework improvements rather than treating compliance as a document-only exercise.
Results that exceeded the maturity target
The program reached an IAM maturity score of 3.65, exceeding the 3.5 objective, and achieved NBB compliance by adding Privileged Access Management and Multi-Factor Authentication.
OPNS built a robust RBAC model with comprehensive access-review processes and extensive automation, integrated with DKV's ticketing system, and enabled smart delegation to business units through self-service. The engagement also covered hiring support, onboarding and training for new IAM staff so the improved practices could remain sustainable.

The two engagements started from different problems. One was an expansion outgrowing its identity model, the other a regulator raising the bar on evidence. What they have in common is that the route forward was specific to the environment.
