What this notice covers
This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used on this website, and applies to www.opns.be only.
This website sets no cookies
This website does not set any cookies. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no third-party tracking cookies of any kind. The audience measurement described below works without them.
How visits are counted
This website uses the audience and performance measurement built into the platform that hosts it. Neither part writes anything to your browser. In place of a cookie, a visit is counted from a hash derived from the incoming request, and that hash is discarded after 24 hours, so the same person returning next week is counted as a new visit rather than a recognised one. What is recorded, and the legal basis for it, is set out in the privacy policy.
The one thing stored on your device
The only thing this site stores in your browser is a single sessionStorage entry that remembers you have already seen the homepage scroll cue, so it does not show again during the same visit. It is not a cookie, is not used to identify or track you, and is cleared automatically when you close the browser tab.
No profiling, advertising or cross-site tracking
This website runs no tag manager and no advertising or profiling script, and nothing on it can follow you to another website. The measurement above is aggregate: it tells OPNS which pages are read, not who read them.
Why you are not asked to accept anything
A website must ask for your consent before it stores information on your device or reads information already stored there, unless that storage is strictly necessary for something you asked the site to do. The measurement above stores nothing at all, and the scroll-cue entry described above is functional and disappears when you close the tab. There is nothing left to accept or refuse, which is why you see no cookie banner here.
If this changes
If OPNS ever adds a cookie, or any technology that stores information on your device or reads it back, this notice will be updated first and your consent will be requested before anything is set.
